General Objectives
- Collaborate with academic and professional bodies, academics and those interested in medical education to adopt new patterns in the field.
- Rehabilitate and train academics and health professionals on new knowledge, skills and values in medical education.
- Encourage some faculty in medical schools and other health professions colleges to pursue higher qualifications in medical education.
- Contribute to the development of curricula in health professions colleges in line with the latest developments to ensure the continued recognition and accreditation of health professions colleges at the local and global levels.
- Coordinate and collaborate among relevant bodies in the field of medical education.
- Promote and support research and scientific studies in the field of medical education.
Specific Objectives
- Establish an effective network among all those interested in medical education to promote awareness and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) to set appropriate standards for academic evaluation in health colleges in the Kingdom.
- Collaborate with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) in developing aspects of medical education.
- Collaborate with the deans of health colleges in the field of curriculum development and other domains.
- Expanding cooperation with existing scientific institutions interested in medical education such as:
- Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges in the Kingdom.
- Committee of deans of medical colleges in GCC countries.
- Medical Education Centers.
- Associations and international organizations (WFME, EMRO, AMEE, AAME, AME-ER, FAIMER).
- Promotion of research and studies in medical education.
